Forum: web Subject: trying to make sense of a navigation bar

I'm conducting a study of navigation bar items. Here's my problem. Type in www.bloomingdales.com at the waybackmachine, and click on the page that was archived on 1/24/02:

As the page comes in, you will sometimes see a navigation bar that has items beginning with Designers, Women, Shoes & Handbags... however, when the page finally loads, those items have disappeared and the navigation bar now has items beginning with Fashion for Her, Accessories, Beauty... to make matters more confusing, at least for me, when you run your cursor over this navigation bar, the items revert back to those that appeared when the page was first coming in. I have looked at the page source, but probably don't know enough HTML to alleviate my confusion. Which one is the real navigation bar? Thanks for your help.

the wayback machine loads images from the current version of site, in this case these images are misplaced. you can see right words if you turn off images in your browser (and that would be 'fashion for her', 'accessories' etc.)
